The good news!

The Bible says that Abraham had faith and that his faith was accounted to him as righteousness (Genesis 15:6) - and this was even before the law was given to Moses. Abraham was instructed by God to offer his one and only son as a burnt offering, God did this to see if Abraham would withhold his son from him. While Abraham and Isaac were going to the place that the sacrifice would take place, Isaac asked, "Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" (Genesis 22:7). Then Abraham said, "My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together." (Genesis 22:8). The Lord made a promise to Abraham.

Many years later, Abraham's descendants became slaves in Egypt. After that, the Lord explained the purpose of the passover (Exodus 12:23). The Lord delivered them from the Egyptians and gave them the land of Israel. He also gave them the law through Moses. According to the law, animal sacrifices had to be offered in order to cover their sins (Leviticus 1:3). Have you ever seen an animal sacrificed? Not me, and I hope I never do. One noteable thing about these animals is that they had to be spotless and without defect (Leviticus 1:10).

Jesus lived to die and became our sacrifice once and for all (John 1:29). Not only that, but he rose again and ascended into heaven (Matthew 28:6). The Bible says that Jesus is our high priest and prays for us (Hebrews 4:14). And here is the good news: The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead - you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Jesus said, "Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)

Just as Abraham was justified by his faith, so we can be too. Jesus paid it all. I'm not talking about believing that Jesus or God exists - even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). Now is your chance. There is a book of life containing all of the names of those who are saved (Revelation 20:12). I hope your name will be found written in the book of life.
